Location
Where are your rehearsals located? | We conduct rehearsals in Fort Lauderdale & Coral Springs but ask that you set up an appointment if you’d like to visit us. This avoids interruptions to rehearsals in progress and we can assure a staff member is available to speak with you. |
Where do you hold rehearsals in Fort Lauderdale? | Rehearsals in Fort Lauderdale are held at our main office at 319 Tarpon Drive, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33301 on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday evenings. |
Where do you hold rehearsals in Coral Springs? | Rehearsals in Coral Springs are held at Ramblewood Middle School 8505 W Atlantic Blvd, Coral Springs, FL 33071 on Monday evenings. On occasions when the school is closed on a Monday, we hold our rehearsals at nearby location: The Episcopal Church of St. Mary Magdalene & St. Martin, 1400 Riverside Drive in Coral Springs. |
Where does Girl Choir perform? | We perform at many venues throughout south Florida. Frequent venues include the Miniaci Performing Arts Center, All Saints Episcopal Church, Oakland Park Holiday Village, Sunshine Cathedral, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, and many more. |
Music
Does my child need to have singing experience before joining? | No experience is needed. Your child will be placed with other girls of similar age & experience. |
Does my child need to know how to read music before joining? | No. Each child starts our music theory program at the level that best suits their needs and learns to read music at their own pace. |
What kind of music does GCSF sing? | Our choirs learn music of many different genres, from all over the world, from throughout history, and from different cultural perspectives. We’ve even performed songs written exclusively for us for us by professional composers! Check out our YouTube channel to see performances throughout the years. |
Membership
Does my child need to have singing experience before joining? | No experience is needed. Your child will be placed with other girls of similar age & experience. |
May we sit in on a class before deciding whether to join? | To avoid disrupting our regular classes, we would love to have you join us at a scheduled open rehearsal. Complete our Try the Choir form to select an available open rehearsal date & location. |
How large is the choir? | We currently have over 75 choir members and are continuing to grow! |
In what type of events and activities does Girl Choir participate? | In addition to concerts and community performances throughout the year, choir members enjoy weekend workshops & field trips. We also host an annual family picnic as well as an award ceremony to commemorate the season’s achievements. |
I see that you perform at various churches and your office is on church property. Is Girl Choir a religious organization? | While we frequently perform at religious venues, Girl Choir is not a religious organization. We perform music from all over the world, from throughout history, and from different cultural perspectives. We are open to all families and do not discriminate based on religion. |

When does your next semester begin? | The Fall 2024 semester begins the week of August 19. Registration for the 2024-2025 season is open now. |
Cost
What is the cost to become a member of the choir? | Rates are available on our website at girlchoir.org/tuition-and-fees/. In addition to tuition, we require both an annual registration fee and uniform fee. We proudly offer Tuition Assistance and discounts in order to make our membership available to all families regardless of income. |
How do you keep your tuition rate affordable? | Girl Choir is the recipient of multiple government grants. In addition to these grants, we are grateful to receive monetary donations from organizations and individuals who support our mission. We are able to keep our staff expenses low by depending on the kindness of choir families who donate their time to assist us. |
Is there a charge to attend a Girl Choir performance? | While community performances are free to attend, our mainstage concerts are ticketed events. A list of upcoming events and ticket ordering information is available at girlchoir.org/events/ |
